I have to confess that I’m not very good at acknowledging and celebrating goals that I achieve. I pretty much check the item off my mental to-do list and then look toward the next goal.
This includes book releases. Even with eight books out, I have not yet held a single party to celebrate the release of a new book. Can you tell I’m not really a party person? 😀
However, I am trying to allow myself at least a moment of celebration and relief (aka Stop and Smell the Roses!). So, for the release of WAR: Intrusion last week, I took a moment to indulge in some sweet treats to acknowledge the hard work that went in to writing and preparing this book for its sojourn into the world. I fixed a mug of my favorite homemade mocha (coffee with chicory plus a packet of Starbucks salted caramel hot cocoa mix), and some coconut bonbons.
