This move to the east coast has really driven home to me how relative our sense of extreme temperature is. When I lived in West Africa, 75F felt cold after 115F plus days. In California, 50F felt cold.

Now that I’m here in New England, anything above 32F seems warm.

And don’t even get me started on how 65F inside feels cold, but 65F outside feels comfortable.

It’s definitely something I’m going to pay closer attention to in my books from now on.
