Graphic of a winter night. The front of a white delivery van is to the left of a house. The front door is open. A woman stands in the open door as the delivery man carries a package toward her.

’Tis the package delivery season.

Which means that every time I hear a truck’s engine coming down my cul-de-sac, I head to the window to see if it’s coming to me. It doesn’t matter whether or not I’m waiting for items I ordered, there’s always the possibility that an early gift will arrive.

And who doesn’t feel a bit left out when the delivery van passes you by only to stop at your neighbor’s? And feel a thrill when the delivery person carries a package up to your front door?

(Yes, as I was writing this I heard the UPS van. Sadly, it did not stop at my door!)
