I recently finished reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros after hearing it recommended on a podcast.

I’m somewhat hesitant to pick up YA books that take place in a training environment, particularly if it’s at a school or in this case an Academy. As someone who was picked on in school, I don’t have much interest in books where that’s the main conflict. But the focus here isn’t on the heroine being bullied. It’s on her discovering her own strength and developing strong relationships. I loved it and can’t wait for the next book to come out in November.

I’m currently reading Witch King by Martha Wells. It’s a new fantasy book. She’s probably better known to a lot of people as being the author of the Murderbot Diaries series. But I also love her fantasy. I’m not very far into the book yet, but so far I’m loving it. She really creates a unique and fascinating world.

A couple of books I’m looking forward to reading that just released today are: Resonance Surge, Nalini Singh’s latest in her Psy/Changeling Trinity series; and Jennifer L. Armentrout’s A Soul of Ash and Blood, Book 5 in her Blood and Ash series. This time, we’re getting events from the first book in the hero’s point of view. Should be interesting.

What’s on your to be read pile this week or what are you enjoying?
