It’s that time of year again. Here are a few suggestions for holiday gifts for the book lovers in your life.
SIGNED OR SPECIAL EDITION HARDBACKS
There’s something special about receiving a signed hardback. Particularly in a world where we’re spending so much time online. Check to see if your loved one’s favorite author offers signed hardbacks or has special editions available. As an example, here’s a link to the store of one of my favorite authors, Brandon Sanderson, offering leather-bound editions, plus swag.
GIFT DONATE TO A FAVORITE AUTHOR’S KICKSTARTER
If your loved one has a favorite author who is running a Kickstarter campaign that includes such goodies as an early copy of a book and/or associated swag, you should be able to donate to the campaign so that you get billed but your loved one’s name and address are used for fulfillment. NOTE: I haven’t actually tried this, but I think it should work.
BOOK LOVER FACE MASKS
Okay, yes, we’re all tired of wearing face masks. Still, that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with them. Etsy has some lovely masks for book lovers. So does Redbubble.
CUSTOM EREADER COVER
If your loved one is reading mainly on an ereader, why not consider getting them a custom ereader cover? Here’s a cover on Etsy for Kindle readers where you can upload your own photos.
And here’s one that’s supposed to fit a variety of different models of ereader, with book-themed covers. This is an example of what the Sherlock Holmes one looks like.
READING JOURNAL
Here's a lovely notebook on Etsy for tracking books read, thoughts on each book, and even for writing down favorite quotes.
