Snake in the Snow?

I wouldn’t have thought that a cold-blooded animal like a snake would be out in the snow. 

A trail in the snow that appears to have been made by a snake, running diagonally from upper right to lower left.

But these tracks sure make it seem like the garter snake I’ve seen around my back steps in warmer weather might have been out enjoying yesterday’s sunshine.
