For the past few weeks, I’ve been playing around with new ways of triggering and then expressing my creativity.

For example, I wanted a unique location and backstory for a particular part of my book. And I thought it would be fun to make it have some horror elements.

But that’s all I had.

So I turned to the Story Engine Deck system, which I’ve just begun using. I pulled out the Deck of Worlds: Worlds of Blight & Shadow, Horror Expansion deck. From that, and the main Lore Master’s Deck, I built out a location and a couple of groups that are in conflict over it.

With that prompt to inspire me, I wrote a pretty cool series of scenes.

A female writer pulls prompt cards, generates AI music, and then, inspired, starts writing.

Because I love what I came up with, and I’ve been hearing a lot about Suno.com AI generated music, I decided to try making a song to accompany the scenes.

I put in a short prompt and got something back that perfectly captured the tone I was after. The lyrics are a bit funky in places, but overall, it was a lot of fun.

Now I listen to that track before I sit down to write, because the lyrics have also inspired me to deepen what I’ve written about this location.

So much fun!
