So, my holiday decorating hasn’t gone as planned.

First, I bought a wreath for the front door. Straightforward enough. However, when I got home, I found that there was no longer a peg on the outside of the door for hanging wreaths.

I’d completely forgotten that the door was replaced earlier this year by a metal door and that the hanger had been attached to the old, wooden door.

An evergreen wreath with a red bow hanging next to the front door on the inside of the house.

So, I’ve temporarily hung the wreath inside. I have to move the wreath when I use the door, which is a pain. I’ve ordered a magnetic hook for the new door and I hope to get the wreath hung outside before Christmas.

Then, I couldn’t find any live evergreen branches to use for decorating around the inside of my place.

So, I bought an evergreen display and have slowly been cannibalizing it.

Evergreen branches in a decorative display with a red bow, pinecones, and red berries.

This has already partially been cannibalized.

I snip off pieces and put them on the tops of bookshelves and on wall hangings.

The bottom of a yellow poinsettia's planter is surrounded by evergreen pieces and a red holiday ball.

Problem solved!
