I tend to be wary of films made from books that I love. I don’t often like the casting and the choices of what to exclude or change.

In the lower left, a portion of the sun. In the middle, a man in an astronaut's suit with the helmet off. In the background, the earth hangs in the sky.

However, I loved the movie adaptation of Project Hail Mary. It had been long enough since I read the book that whatever image I had of the main character had long faded. I remembered enough plot points to anticipate what was coming, yet still I cried. And laughed.

Highly recommended!
