Several months ago, I noticed a tiny wooden door stuck on a tree along the walking path.
Wait. What? Had kids put the door up for the fairies?
The door made me smile every time I walked past, but I never thought to investigate its origin.
However, Saturday morning, on a part of the trail in another town, I noticed a few tiny doors set against separate trees, a blue wooden toadstool, and a castle next to a tiny tower. I had fun searching these out as I walked. But I couldn’t help wondering who set them up and why.

I’m still not sure who is responsible, but a bit of research revealed a number of tiny door movements across the globe. Fortunately, the doors I found hadn’t been put into specially carved holes in the trees, so there was no damage done. Something other locations have apparently had problems with.

These fairy-sized items added a lovely bit of whimsy to my walk. I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for little doors on walks along other sections of the trail.
How about you? Have you seen tiny doors in your neck of the woods?
