I hate daylight saving time.

First, there’s the extra darkness in the morning. I already wake up at 4:30. Having it stay dark later only depresses me and makes me wish I could go back to bed.

Second, and even more depressing, is the evening. Because I get up so early, I really should be in bed by 8:30. I never make it by then, but I do start getting ready for bed very early in the evening. So, the extra hour of daylight depresses me. My neighbors are outside, talking and laughing and generally enjoying that extra hour of daylight, while I glumly prepare for bed.

Please, can’t we get rid of daylight saving time?

I’m not the only one who feels this way. Take a look at this video someone shared on Facebook. It perfectly encapsulates all the angst I feel about daylight saving time.

Bring back the hour of morning daylight!
