I’ve been noticing a change in the type of Halloween decorations I see in my neighborhood. Several years ago, I first noticed that there were more actual skeletons rather than inflatable or cartoon ones.

This year, I’ve been noticing that the skeletons, along with ghouls and ghosts, are trying to climb in people’s windows.

A house with cheerful Halloween decorations is being invaded by Halloween monsters.

I don’t know if this is an overall trend, but it’s definitely new in my area.

Have people been watching too many horror shows? Or do Halloween decorations represent a deep-seated fear?

I can’t say, but it’s interesting. And the creepies getting in might have been what caused another house to put crime scene tape in an X over all of its windows.
